Everybody wants to know what is being drilled. Now you can see for yourself.

I got my new camera and all I have to do is learn how to use it. Give me a little time to get things going again. We are having issues on the Players Services Trailers (ball drilling trailers). The trailer we store our inventory and layout balls is in the shop and we will not have it for a couple weeks. We are working out of a rented trailer and all of our balls are staked in case boxes on top of each other. This is really creating a rough work environment and I have not been able to set up a layout station where I can leave my camera and take the pictures I have been doing for SFTP.

The most popular balls this week have been either Vapor Zones, Strike Zones, Ultimate Infernos or Classic Zones. Most bowlers want to start with something smooth like the Ultimate or Strike Zone and then transition with the break down. If there is a lot of burn and they want to hook it they will end up with the Classic Zone. Some will try and stay square with the lane and stick with either the Ultimate Inferno or Strike Zone. This takes some special skills because most bowlers won't be able to throw it hard enough or stay soft enough with their hands to keep these balls going up the lane. If they feel they are forced to hook these two strong balls their carry will suffer.

The Vapor Zone can be used from either place on the lane and is the most versatile of the other three balls. The bowlers will certainly see a strong movement off of the dry with this ball so they will have to really stay focused on their angles. It will be real easy to get trapped in the no-carry zone being in between balls. When the heads burn forcing the bowlers to open up their angles the options are moving their break point deeper (about 8-9) and when they do it will be a good jump left with their feet. I expect many bowlers to miss this move as they will try and keep throwing at the gutter because they want to attack the friction. There is plenty of it there but the traffic in the front part of the lane is going to give a wiggle effect for those trying to cross it. Creating a cleaner and easier push through the first 30 feet of the lane is going to be a premium for those wanting to hook the ball. Those wanting to stay square to the lane can let their ball do the wiggles in the front as long as they don't get caught with too much angle through the front. This will take some muscle as the lanes are very dry after they get beat up. It will be a real challenge to not grab it and still muscle it through the front.

I hate to use the word muscle with bowling but the only other option this week is a 4 to 5 foot arm. There will be no grapping allowed this week. The longest swing possible with a lot of end over end roll and no grabbing will allow the bowlers the advantage they need to play the friction.
