We have been looking for something different for quite some time now. Well wait no longer we got it this week. We need to come up with a good name for this pattern. I have heard it called the Rake because of the pattern a rake makes in the sand. There are references to a Roller Coaster and a Chinese Dragon. Whether a bowler likes the pattern or not it is definitely different and will provide advantages to bowlers who haven't had the opportunity to bowl with an advantage in a long time. No I am not talking about the left/right issue. The advancement in lane machine technology is what has allowed the PBA to develop this pattern and I for one would love to see it become a regular pattern on tour. The tweeners can compete, The lower rev rates can compete, and it provides more variety showcasing the group of bowlers who are versatile enough to compete on anything. I am not saying it doesn't need a little tweek here and there but there is true variety being afforded the bowlers this week.
