Walter Ray Williams Jr.
vs Mika Koivuniemi
A slugfest between two
of the greatest matchplay bowlers on tour.
Toe to Toe Strike after strike. In the end
Mika hit harder and lasted longer. I am sure
Walter looks forward to a rematch.

Insider Information from the Round of 8
with Rick Benoit
This was set up to be a great match and it was
everything it was suppose to be. Tied at 2-2 after four
games. Mika made the right choices and it was too much
for Walter to overcome. The match was highlighted with a
300 by Mike in game two. Game three started out with
Walter throwing the first 8 at Mika. Gotta love the show
of these great players. Mika had another chance at a
perfect game in game 6 when he started with the front 8
in that game.
Pete really didn't bowl any worse than in his previous
match but it wasn't going to be enough against what
Scroggs had in this round. Scroggs must have figured
something out for this round because there was nothing
looking that good in the previous rounds. Believe it or
not it wasn't just a ball.
This was the first time BV had to bowl against an
opponent that could play right with him. The two broke
the lane down together and for a while it didn't look
like either one of them was going to miss. When things
did change Tom actually followed the transition in a
little more forgiving manor.
