The
position bracket is used to prepare for the Step ladder
TV finals. The Master tournament is based on a bracket
format until the TV show. For a step ladder format you
need to seed the players 1 through 4. So they choose to
complete the double elimination format until there is
only one bowler with zero losses. That bowler (Norm
Duke) is the number one seed. Every other bowler is
thrown back in the 1 loss bracket at the time of their
loss and the bracket is completed until every bowler but
one has two losses. The bowler with only one loss is the
number 2 seed. The last two bowlers to have two losses
are seeded 3rd and 4th. The loser of the winners bracket
match can be seeded no lower than 3rd because of the
timing of his first loss. He is thrown into the losers
bracket after there is only one player with one loss.
The two players with one loss battle it out for the
number two spot.
The players listed in
Green qualify for the show they are determining their
seeding position from this point forward. The seeding
positions for the Tournament are
1st seed Norm Duke
2nd seed Mike Scroggins
3rd seed Art Brown
4th seed Ken Muscato |
