There are three brackets to watch in the Masters Tournament. The
tournament format is a double elimination format. There are 63 bowlers
who qualify from the 15 games of total pins competition. The previous
years Master Champion (Danny Wiseman) is then added to this 63 players
to complete the 64 man bracket.
Once a player loosed he is positioned in the losers bracket at the
time of his loss. The winners and losers brackets continue until a
player has two losses. The players position is determined by the timing
of his second match-play loss. When there is only 3 bowlers with one
loss and 1 bowler undefeated the show is set and then the tournament
switches to a step ladder format for TV. Because the step ladder format
is used the players compete until they have their 2nd loss. The first of
the 3 bowlers to have his second loss is the 4th seed on the TV show.
The 2nd to have his second loss is 3rd and the one that had only 1 loss
is seeded 2nd with the 1 bowler with zero losses is the number 1 seed.
