This the type of match up that I had hoped the match-play environment would have created. Doug was very much in control of his transition. Mike had had a good look the entire time. Nothing seems to be able to slow Mike down. Dough got off to a slower start but he knew how important it was to transition the lanes that would allow him to compete in the late games. It just took too long to get it done.

When you see low game followed by big games it is not a case where the bowler bowled bad it was just a matter of how quick and difficult the transition was. Michael had a clear picture of how this was going to happen and in this match-up he had the natural advantage once the oil got down the lane.

Wes had his opportunities but was never able to capitalize on them. Games 2 and 3 were just what you would expect out of the way these two transition the lanes. On this night on this pair the better bowler won.

Patrick didn't have it quite the same or he just didn't bowl as good. Either way you could tell that Amleto was at the disadvantage considering the part of the lane he was having to use. I was surprised at how long it took for Patrick to gain the victory but the outcome just seemed to be a matter of time. In talking with Amleto afterward you could feel the frustration of fatigue of a hard fought match. He knew he didn't have much of a chance and is anxious to take a break.
