The looser of each game was determined by inopportune opens at inopportune times. Wes seemed to be lined up to Ring 10 while Robert actually seemed to have the better match up. I had expected Wes to have the better match up. Sometimes it is hard to get out of the ring 10 spot. I just didn't like the way Wes's ball was coming off the spot. I don't know if he saw it and was just caught between balls or not. I saw a lot of bowlers having the same issues though. Too sharp of a move too far down the lane was an almost guarantee ring 10 unless you were lined up and getting the light hit. flush that far down the lane was not good.

Obviously Eric was not able to move Mike off his spot. I expected Eric to be able to. Eric uses more head belly than Mike and probably moved too soon to effect Mike. Mike likes to see the ball roll up instead of hook. Even though Mike and Eric can play similar part of the lane they are not looking for the same type of reaction.

Walter wiped DJ off the bracket. Enough said. Why DJ insists on playing the lanes the way he does on fresher patterns I will never understand.

My two young stars. With development these two will be bowling each other for several years to come.

This particular week was a matter of Sean having the better look on the pair they bowled on. Michael had scores that would compete in any match but looked like he was out manned against Sean.

I wonder if Ryan had more problems with the lanes or the approaches. I know Ryan really struggled with the approaches in the first match. I wonder if Ryan isn't having some issues with is physical game. Mike obviously was not near as comfortable with his look after game 4 either.

This match was on a pair the Mike had struggled on in qualifying and was going to be bowling a bowler who has a tendency to lower the scoring pace. By looking at the scores I guess what ever Brian does to the lane must have been what Mike needed to fix the pair. Actually a short practice session before the match cured Mikes match up issues and Brian did not have much of a chance.

This match was 3-1 in favor of Pete Weber when it could just have been 3-1 in favor of Brad. Games 3 and 4 were the pivotal games in this match. Opportunities late in both games were not realized. Without a doubt Brad is struggling to make shots when he wants them. This is something that every bowler goes through and I liken it to a basketball player in a shooting slump. A true star never backs down. If you miss a shot get yourself in position to take another one and fire away. You can't control the outcome but you can control the frame of mind.

Chris just made me a liar. I said before the match that Chris was the better shot maker. OK he didn't make me a liar but he had an off day in that department today. He had game two won with a mark in the 10th of game 2 only to big 4. He also had several opportunities in later games that he knows were just plain bad shots. You can't forget that it is a lot easier to make good shots when you are doing what you like to do naturally. Patrick is in his wheel house this week.
