Jason almost always provides a great show. Besides his great bowling skills he gives us personality and intensity. Early in his career he struggled in pressure situations but now in his prime he is one of the best under pressure. For what ever reason things usually go Jason's way when the game is on the line. I guess he isn't perfect because he was in that position in the 10th frame of game 6 and lowered his pressure shot percentage down a couple notches. After a 4 bagger all he needed was X 8/ to win. The reality was a brooklyn strike on his first attempt. But as usual the result went in his favor. Needing only 8/ to win he gets 7 2 to loose by one.

When the scoring pace goes up it is not a good idea to get in a carry contest with Robert Smith.

Consider it practice Paul. You just didn't have enough fire power in this war. Pick up your wounded and retreat until another day.

You never know what can happen but sometimes you are pretty sure of yourself. In this match up the best think Rudy could do was try and improve his own chances by working to follow his own transition. If that was the case Rudy did not pass the test. You don't want to waste opportunities to grow and learn.

This was all about ball reaction. Mika did everything he could to find the right look but everything wound up in the same ring 10 spot. That was the case most of the week. Walter had very little problem with carry in this match. There were uncharacteristic opens by Mika as well but when your ball isn't doing the right thing that can be expected.

Real Intensity in this match. Most of these games came right down to the 9th and 10th frame which brings out the personality of a bowler. Nobody focuses any better than Brian Voss so winning a match against one of the best under pressure is a feather in your cap. Michael has been adding a lot of feathers in his cap lately.

Sometimes bowlers don't match up to the conditions and sometimes bowlers don't match up to the approaches. Both Sean and Tim Struggled with the approaches on the left lane. Due to the nature of his game Tim Struggled worse. I know it was bad because in a practice session at the end of the day Chris Barnes wound up at the arrows and that was after an hour long practice on another pair. Sean must of had the right shoe combination because he had a lot less problem

It isn't often Tommy looses a 7 game match. Nor is it often that he doesn't have as good of a match up as his opponent. Mike seems to have a very good match up.

I saw the last couple games of this match and PA was not very happy with his shot making ability. Shafer was hobbling with soreness due to the approach conditions he struggled with.

Consistency through transition was the difference in this match, along with a bad toe. CJ has been struggling with an ingrown toe nail and blisters on his feet. Now he may have more blisters to deal with as Brad put a spanking on him late in the match. If you have ever bowled with a sore big toe you can imagine what it feels like especially when there are approach issues.

Ouch

As good as Norm is you can not beat a talented player on his natural match up. Norm had his streaks but it never looked like you had a chance against the superior look Pete had through transition. Norm had two shots in the 10th for perfect games and then he lost his look shortly there after. Pete had a lot easier time following the break down transition.

Steve had to be feeling pretty good about making match play again until he got to see who he had to bowl in the round of 32. The way these two match up there was nothing Steve could do but wall up the conditions for Chris. Chris took full advantage of the situation.

Pat said he got all the breaks. When I look at the scores it looks like he didn't need a lot of them. Not that Rick didn't bowl OK but with Pat's natural match up you are going to get more breaks than normal.
