No surprises here. Wes continues to match up with the amount of oil down lane and bowlers struggle to carry with him.

Brian has really struggled trying to match up with match play transitions. Well this is one of the weeks where he didn't really have to stray far from his "A" game. Paul didn't really have good options to go to.

Brad used a BVP Rampage       This match was a lot closer than a sweep would indicate. Both bowlers knew what they wanted to do. The greats just went Bards way this time.

Derek lost his look after game 2 and did not regain it until 3 games later. How quickly a bowler matches up is one of the biggest differences at this level of competition.

This match was all about staying up with the moves and getting the right breaks at the right time. With the breakdown characteristics of this house it did not surprise me that the players would struggle at times. It looks like Jason was just getting a good read on things when Amleto managed just enough to stop the bleeding when he got the first hit in the 10th to win game 7.

This has been Tommy's forte for two years now. Hang around until the lane blow open and then try and keep up with him. The match went 7 games but it was pretty much over when Tim lost his look in game 6.

I haven't seen Bill struggle before as much as I saw him struggle in this match. He seemed to make the same mistake when ever he needed a shot. As dry as the heads were it was very easy to go through the nose. As soon as you guard against that you could throw it out the window. Bill did both in this match.

You are not going to have it easy against Norm Duke right now. He seems to be on the top of his game. Blaise just wasn't up to it.

Joe's look may not have been as good as it was during qualifying but it was good enough to get by Chris this morning. No real excitement in this match even though the match was relatively close.

This was a non match. Ritchie dominated Michael. I saw Michael after the match and he was pretty frustrated at himself for the way he bowled. Sometimes it doesn't matter how good you bowl. When you don't match up and your opponent does it is very seldom that you will win your match.

This two did exactly what you would expect to the pattern and the late game scores pretty much showed what happens when you beat up the middle part of the lane with nothing to throw at.

A lefty/righty match that looked unfair. No matter what Ryan did it was not going to carry. By the time the match got into the late games you could feel it was just a matter of time.

Mike Wolfe got the early jump on Mike Fagan with a much better look in games 1 and 2. This match was won because Mike Wolfe had a better control of his angles when the lane was going through its carry down phase.

Rick did all he could but it was not enough. It looked like both bowlers were comfortable. Mike just won more close games by getting the right breaks at the right time.
