A very exciting first game. the 4 man elimination round was a TV viewers dream. Going into the 10th frame 3 of the 4 players could strike out to tie at 258. Chris Warren was the first to finish and nutted three shots for a double and 9 and when I say 9 I mean 9 pin. An absolutely great shot that set the stage for what it would take to win the elimination match. Chris Barnes followed Chris Warren and got the first one only to leave a 4 pin on the second. Chris Barnes had led through most of the game. I would not say he had the best ball reaction but he made the best of what he had. Choosing to use two different balls was an obvious indication he was not real comfortable with his look. He was the only bowler who was forced to use two different balls. The left lane hooked a little earlier but nobody had them that much different. Chris out bowled his ball reaction to get a chance in the 10th. The other bowler with a chance was Mike Devaney who started the match with two open frames. After two frames I thought he was done. It isn't very often you can have two open frames in a 4 person match and expect to have a change to win. As it was Mike had a combination of a good look and good breaks in throwing the next 7 strikes. Several of his shots looked to leave something, in the middle of the string the 7-10 was standing only to be scouted. Mike had to feel very fortunate to be up in the 10th to win.

As fortune had it Mike threw 3 strikes to move on.
